Where Authenticity & Artistry Meet

Super 8mm, 16mm & Analog Film Wedding Videography

There’s just something about real film. The grain, the glow, the way it feels like a memory even as it’s happening. At Aurora Wedding Films, I mix the nostalgic beauty of Super 8mm and 16mm analog film with the crisp detail of modern digital, kind of like pairing a vintage wine with a perfect meal. I’ve been filming weddings for over a decade, and if there’s one thing I know, it’s this: the best moments aren’t staged. They’re the ones you didn’t even see coming.

Why Film?

Digital is great—it’s sharp, it’s clean, it never forgets to bring enough rolls of film. But analog film? That’s where the magic is.

  • Super 8mm is your fun, slightly unpredictable friend. It’s playful, nostalgic, and full of movement—like your parents’ old home movies, but with better hair.

  • 16mm is the sophisticated cousin. Cinematic, rich, and perfect for those sweeping ceremony shots and epic first kisses.

Both have personality. Both make your day feel like the once-in-a-lifetime event it is.

Our Approach

Think of me as a guest with really nice cameras and no urge to tell you where to stand. I don’t choreograph moments or yell “Do that again, but with more emotion.” My job is to blend in, soak up the atmosphere, and quietly catch the little things—a quick glance, a nervous laugh, your uncle’s surprisingly smooth dance moves.

How We Work With Film

Every wedding package includes a mix of film and digital footage. We shoot the film, get it developed, scanned, and edited right alongside the digital so it all flows together.

What that looks like in real life:

  • We talk about what you want (and what you don’t).

  • I bring my trusty film cameras and the right stock for the light.

  • You have your wedding.

  • I make it look like a dreamy vintage movie without ever pulling you out of the moment.

The Film

While our highlight reels capture the essence of your day, The Film is where the story breathes. Think of it as a long-form home movie — usually 6–10 minutes — made entirely from the Super 8mm and 16mm footage we shot throughout your wedding. It’s grainy, imperfect in all the best ways, and full of the little unscripted details that make your day yours.

This isn’t a polished “music video” edit — it’s a nostalgic film reel that feels like someone lovingly taped your wedding on an old camera, then left you with a treasure you’ll rewatch for years.

F.A.Qs

Q: Can we go all film, no digital?

A: Absolutely. You’ll just need to be cool with the fact that I might look like a 1970s news cameraman by the end of the night.

Q: Does film look… old?

A: In the best possible way. It’s not “dated,” it’s timeless. Like your grandparents’ wedding album but with fewer shoulder pads.

Q: Do you still shoot digital?

A: Yes! It’s the peanut butter to film’s jelly—they’re perfect together.

Let’s Get Started!

Your wedding isn’t just another event—it’s your story. And whether it’s told through the nostalgic charm of Super 8mm, the cinematic elegance of 16mm, or a mix of both, I’d love to be the one to capture it.
